Paying for a car
Do you offer financing or monthly payments?
No. We don't offer in-house financing or payment plans. Every car is paid in full.
How do I pay for a car that's already in your inventory?
Cash, wire or cashier's check, or your own bank or credit-union auto loan. With a loan, get pre-approved first, then we send your lender a buyer's order with the VIN and price and they pay us directly at closing. The money never has to sit in your account.
How do I pay for a car you source at auction?
The full budget has to be in your account before we bid: wire, cashier's check, or personal-loan proceeds already deposited to you. A regular auto loan can't pre-fund it, because the bank needs a specific car (VIN and title) before it lends, and at bid time we haven't bought one yet.
Can I use a personal loan?
Yes. Unsecured personal or auto loans that deposit the money into your own bank account (for example LightStream) work for sourced cars. Approval and terms are between you and the lender.
Is my budget the car's price?
Your out-the-door budget includes everything: the car, auction fees, transport, reconditioning, our fees, and the sales tax and DMV fees you'll pay when you register it. So the auction bid is always lower than your budget.
Having us find your car
How does car sourcing work?
You tell us your budget and what you want. You sign the sourcing agreement and fund the search. We search ACV, Manheim and ADESA dealer auctions, show you the condition report and history for each match, and bid only on cars you approve in writing. Then we buy it, recondition what we agreed to, and deliver it with your paperwork.
What fees do you charge?
A non-refundable search fee at signing (credited toward the sourcing fee if we buy a car), a flat sourcing fee, and the dealer documentation fee. You also pay the actual auction price and fees, actual transport and agreed reconditioning. We give you the auction invoice. The exact amounts are written in your sourcing agreement before you pay anything.
How much is the sourcing fee?
It's a flat fee based on your out-the-door budget: $6K–$8K budget: $1,000; $8K–$12K budget: $1,500; $12K–$18K budget: $2,000; $18K–$25K budget: $2,500; $25K+ budget: $3,000 or 12% of budget, whichever is higher. It's written into your sourcing agreement before you pay anything, and it's our only markup. The car, auction fees, transport and repairs are billed at what they actually cost.
Is there a minimum budget?
Yes, $6,000 out the door. Below that, fees, transport and tax leave too little for a car worth buying at auction. Check our current inventory instead.
Do I get to see the car before you bid?
Yes. You see the condition report, history summary and photos, and you sign a Bid Authorization for that exact VIN with a maximum bid. We never bid without it or above it.
What if you can't find a car?
If no matching car is found, or you cancel before any bid you've authorized, your sourcing funds are refunded under the agreement's refund terms. Only the search fee is kept.
How long does it take?
Most searches find a match in one to three weeks. Very specific requests (exact color, low miles, rare trims) can take longer.
What if the car arrives with a problem the auction didn't disclose?
If it shows frame or flood damage, a branded title or an odometer problem that wasn't in the condition report, you can reject it before delivery and we file the claim with the auction. If the auction claim fails, your funds are refunded less the search fee, as the agreement explains.
Can I sign the paperwork online?
Yes. Your private status link shows every document we ask you to sign. You read it there, type your name, and it's signed, with a copy kept on file.
Condition, paperwork and title
Do the cars come with a warranty?
Auction cars are sold as-is unless the law requires otherwise. What you get instead is full disclosure up front: the condition report, history, and a list of what we'll fix before delivery and what we won't.
Who is the seller?
Cars are sold by Top Tier Auto Sales LLC, a licensed Delaware dealer. JNC Car Sales handles the search, purchase and delivery.
What paperwork do I get?
A bill of sale, the title or Delaware dealer reassignment (or a written notice with the expected date if the title is still coming from the auction), an odometer disclosure, the Buyers Guide, and copies of the auction invoice, condition report and history report.
Do you collect sales tax?
No. You pay the sales tax due in your state when you register the car. You're also responsible for registration and insurance before you drive it away.
Selling us your car
How do I get an offer?
Fill out the Sell page with the year, make, model, miles, condition and a few photos. We usually text an offer within one business day. There's no obligation.
I still owe money on my car. Can I sell it?
Often, yes. Tell us roughly what's left on the loan and we'll work out the payoff with you and your lender.
Is the offer final?
Offers are based on what you send us and are confirmed when we see the car and its title in person.
Renting a car
How much does a rental cost?
$350 a week, with a 30-day minimum. Rent is paid weekly.
Who can rent?
Drivers 21 and older with a valid license and a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3 years; a DUI/DWI disqualifies). An active delivery-app account helps.
Can I use the car for Uber or Lyft?
No. The cars are for delivery apps like DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Instacart and Amazon Flex. Passenger rideshare in NYC requires TLC-plated vehicles.
What about insurance?
Every rental needs insurance that covers delivery driving. We go over exactly what's required, and what you'd need to provide, before you pick up the car.
How do I get approved faster?
Upload your license, a screenshot of your delivery-app account and proof of address with your application.
Referrals and texts
How does the referral program work?
Get a code on the Referrals page. You earn $200 when someone you refer buys a car (paid after the sale closes) and $100 when they rent (paid after their first 30 days are paid).
How do I stop text messages?
Reply STOP to any text from us. Reply HELP for help. You only get texts if you checked the box to receive them.
